About:
Jasmine Cedeno is a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist based in California who takes great pride in collaborating with her clients to help them achieve their therapeutic goals. Her interest in becoming a psychotherapist originates from her personal life experiences. As a 3rd and 4th generation Mexican-American, she understands what it feels like to be in the middle (not fully embraced by two cultures), which can lead to feelings of impostor syndrome and identity crisis. Jasmine strongly emphasizes bringing awareness and understanding to her clients through exploring family dynamics, drawing on client strengths and support systems, challenging unhelpful thoughts, offering different perspectives, and aiding her clients in building personal resources to improve their well-being. She incorporates cultural humility into her practice, recognizing the importance of multicultural perspectives and fostering an inclusive approach to therapy.
Jasmine's previous clinical experience includes working with older adults and their families to address the stressors associated with aging and caretaking due to dementia and Alzheimer's. She has also worked with young adults, children, and teenagers to manage stress, grief and loss, adjustment, intimate partner violence, racial identity, racial injustice, medical illness, divorce and separation, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and trauma.
During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, friends, and family, painting/drawing, attending concerts, discovering new coffee shops, going on walks, visiting museums, volunteering, reading, and striving toward personal growth through her therapy. As a lifelong learner, Jasmine works toward continuing her professional development by gaining knowledge through case consultation with her supervisor, workshops, research, and conferences.
