"A mentor of mine once said, “No one ever sits you down as a kid and warns you that this whole being a human thing is intense. Most of the time we all walk around pretending like it’s not a big deal.” This lack of preparation creates a profound disconnection that negatively affects mental health. In psychotherapy, I aim to work collaboratively with my clients in order to help them reconnect to the moment to moment experience of their life and improve their overall wellbeing.
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist associate and I specialize in working with relationship issues, addiction, grief, anxiety and depression. I have significant experience working with couples and young adults as well as working with people in residential or intensive outpatient addiction treatment.
I conceptualize my work through a psychodynamic lens with an emphasis on relational process. Together we will work to bring unconscious dynamics into awareness through examining current and past relationships. I have a personal interest in Buddhist psychology and meditation and bring this into my work so long as it is of interest to my clients."
